Multi-messenger constraints to the local emission of cosmic-ray electrons and positrons

The fluxes of cosmic-ray electrons and positrons are now known with unprecedented precision up to TeV energies. Very recent data from AMS-02, DAMPE, CALET, Fermi-LAT and HESS experiments suggest the presence of a break in the electron plus positron flux at around 1 TeV. An excess of positrons above 10 GeV has been measured by Pamela, Fermi-LAT and by AMS-02. In addition, new stringent upper bounds on the dipole anisotropy of the inclusive electron plus positron flux have been presented from Fermi-LAT. The interpretation of the observed fluxes is still under debate, and it is hampered by large uncertainties, primarily connected to the properties of the accelerated electrons and positrons at their sources. A strategy to constrain the properties of local cosmic-ray accelerators is to model their multi-wavelength emission. I will present the results of recent analysis of the emission from Galactic sources of cosmic electrons and positrons from radio to gamma-rays, aimed at constraining the contribution of local Supernova Remnants and Pulsar Wind Nebulae to the observed cosmic-ray fluxes.

Direct Detection Prospects for the Cosmic Neutrino Background and Other Cosmic Relics

The Cosmic Neutrino Background is a solid prediction of the Standard Model of Cosmology and Particle Physics. There is plenty of indirect evidence for its existence but so far it escaped direct detection. I will explain the difficulties in such an endeavor and present some ideas and proposals for it. Interestingly, the existing proposals could often act simultaneously as a dark matter experiment.
