WE-Heraeus-Seminar: The High Energy LHC
17. - 20. Oktober 2016
The aim of the workshop is to bring together young researchers on the PhD and postdoc level with leading experts both from experimental and theoretical particle physics. The workshop will provide a platform to report and interpret the latest results from LHC Run 2. The prospects for the discovery of new physics will be evaluated, and needs both on the experimental and the theoretical side will be discussed in order to be able to explore the LHC data at full extent. Besides scientific talks there will be discussion rounds, and a poster session will be organized with contributions from the younger scientists. The seminar is kindly supported by the Heraeus foundation.

Fit(s) for LHC run-2
10. - 12. Oktober 2016
The main objective of the LHC is the search for and the possible discovery of new physics beyond the Standard Model. An essential aspect is the quantitative interpretation, i.e. fits, of the data in terms of existing, well-motivated new physics models. These can be complete models, such as the constrained minimal supersymmetric model, effective TeV-scale models like the general MSSM, or simplified models, constructed to understand a subset of the data in terms of easily understandable physical parameters. We propose to bring together world-leading experts in the area of global fits for BSM models and Higgs physics, to discuss status and challenges for the LHC run-2. This workshop is jointly funded by the Higgs Centre and the DFG Network "New Physics at the LHC".

The 9th International Workshop on Top Quark Physics TOP 2016
19. - 23. September 2016
The 9th International Workshop on Top Quark Physics TOP 2016 will be held in the city of Olomouc, Czech Republic from 19th to 23th September. The workshop will bring together the community of experimental and theoretical physicists working on top quark physics. The 2016 edition will be especially focused on the new era of measurements and discovery potential of top quarks at the Run 2 of the Large Hadron Collider. The workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest results and searches from experiments as well as the most recent theoretical developments and an outlook on top-quark physics at future colliders. The programme will consist of plenary presentations, a poster session and 'question and answers' sessions, targeting young researchers. A significant fraction of the workshop time will be devoted to discussions, with a dedicated Young Scientist Forum. The goal of the workshop is to provide a comprehensive picture of top-quark physics and a forum where experimentalists and theorists can discuss the interpretation of top quark results and plan future measurements.

Higgs Days at Santander 2016
19. - 23. September 2016
The workshop is intended to understand, discuss, solve problems concerning Higgs boson searches and (precision) measurements at the LHC and future (ILC, ...) colliders. The focus will be on the Higgs sector of the SM, the 2HDM and the MSSM. For a successful Higgs boson search theory and experiment have to work hand in hand. This workshop should facilitate the interaction between experimental and theoretical Higgs physicists. The program consists of two parts: discussions of the results of the big experiments, as well as shorter theory presentations relevant to the subject. About half of the time is reserved for discussions.

Mainz Institute for Theoretical Physics: Effective Field Theories as Discovery Tools
22. August - 9. september 2016
MITP seeks to bring together physicists with common scientific interests for discussions and collaborations. Instead of relying on a comprehensive list of talks, the program will focus on a series of informal seminars to inspire further discussions. This year the program aims at laying out the new physics discovery potential of Run II of the LHC from the effective field theory (EFT) approach.

Quantum Field Theory at the Limits: from Strong Fields to Heavy Quarks
18. - 30. Juli 2016
The Helmholtz International Summer School will cover the main topics in heavy-flavor and strong-field physics. It will provide a first hand opportunity to a good number of graduate students and postdocs in high energy and high intensity physics. One focus is on latest results on heavy quark physics from all four experimental collaborations at the LHC (ATLAS, CMS, LHCb, ALICE) and from the B-factory at the KEK. The second focus concentrates on the high-intensity frontier and extreme states of matter as probed by current and upcoming high-power laser and high-Z ion facilities all around the world. Leading experts in these fields will read a series of lectures devoted to theoretical predictions and analyses of experimental results.

(Re)interpreting the results of new physics searches at the LHC
15. - 17. Juni 2016
The LHC collaborations are pursuing searches for new physics in a vast variety of channels. The full understanding of the implications of these searches requires the interpretation of the experimental results in the context of all kinds of theoretical models. This is a very active field, with several public tools being developed. The goal of this workshop is to review the status of efforts and tools for the BSM (re)interpretation of LHC data, and to set the stage for a continued interaction between theorists and with the experiments. A possible outcome of the meeting is the creation of a working group, whose plan and organization can be outlined during the available discussion time.
