The experimental and theoretical particle physics groups at the RWTH Aachen University have been awarded a new 9,4 Million Euro research grant by the Federal Ministry of Education of Research to work on the physics of the Large Hadron Collider LHC at CERN in Geneva. The Institute for Particle Physics and Cosmology participates in the grant through Profs. Czakon and Krämer who pursue research in precision calculations and beyond the Standard Model physics at the LHC. The award was presented to the Rector of the RWTH, Prof. Schmachtenberg, by Parliamentary State Secretary Thomas Rachel.
